Grace (my 4-yr old): "Mom, your phone buzzed and I looked. It was a text message, you know where the little letters come up and you can write like a postcard? So, I typed and sent them a text message back. I wonder if they'll send one back to me?!"
Me: (Look at the phone to see) "Well, fffyahghgiak back at you". (Scroll up to see who she is communicating with and what was said...)
My boss via text: "Everything ok?"
Grace via text: "fffyahghgiakbyobfff"
My boss via text: "Well, fffyahghgiak back at you"
Me via text: "Agh! I'm so sorry! Grace grabbed my phone..."
My boss via text: "That's what I figured. Glad you're all ok."
What you can expect here:
Real - I believe that being genuine is a quality not used enough. You can expect to find me writing from a very genuine and open place in these posts. I'm not claiming to be right (or anything else), but I will promise to be myself.
Random - I'm known by some of my friends to be the 'queen of random'. I will pop-in on my coworkers with the latest "Did you know..." or "Guess what I heard on my way in to work today...". So, that's a little of what random might mean. It also means that you're not going to find a concentration of any one topic here. I work in marketing, PR, social media, and fundraising for a non-profit healthcare system. So you'll definitely see elements of that but you'll also find me talking about various industries and aspects of my volunteer and community work. I'll also throw in a little about about my family, but not too much because you'll find (if I'm keeping it real) I'm an overly cautious person.
Relevant - While the overall make-up of the blog's content might be random, I hope someone finds it relevant. To that point, I will do my best to keep the info timely and updated. I'm not going to try to be everything to everyone, but simply something to someone. Me. If you find it relevant, even better.
